Reflexology
Reflexology is derived from the ancient Eastern practice of stimulating particular regions on the feet, (and sometimes the hands & ears) which are said to be associated with organs within the body.
There are varying explanations about the mechanisms upon which reflexology operates including theories based on the body's energy system, its nervous system, and the endorphin system.
Reflexology clients report a variety of benefits to the body and mind along with an overall sense of wellbeing following a treatment.
Reflexology at Pamper Parties
At our Pamper Parties we off a range of Reflexology treatments of differing lengths from a 15 minute taster treatment to a full 60 minute Reflexology treatment. Our parties are a great way to try Reflexology for the first time and gives you a chance to question your therapist and see if it is a treatment you would like to have on a future one-to-one basis.
Reflexology at a Mid-Week Pampering Event
Reflexology is naturally a great treatment for people to sample with our Mid-Week Pampering Service.
Preparation for a Reflexology Treatment
You may feel more comfortable if you ensure your feet are nice and clean before the treatment but don't be too self conscious, the therapist will be used to dealing with feet and will give them a quick clean before the treatment commences.
Guests are asked to sign a treatments consent form at the start of the party / event which can be shown to the therapist before the treatment commences. Please limit any alcohol consumption prior to your treatment.
During Your Treatment
The treatment requires the removal of your shoes and anything covering your feet. You can lie down flat or have your back supported to bring you into a sitting position. You may wish to talk or you may wish to drift off and enjoy your treatment. Your therapist may comment on anything they discover during your session and you are free to give feedback. The treatment in itself is deeply relaxing. Don't be too worried if you think you might be ticklish, you will soon relax as your feet become accustomed to the treatment.
After Your Reflexology Treatment
Be sure to have a glass of water after your treatment. People can sometimes feel slightly light headed, especially if they've not eaten during the day. The therapist will be happy for you to take your time to regain yourself.
Room and Equipment
Reflexology is likely to take place on a massage / beauty couch (approx. 6 foot long) with the therapist sat at the foot of the bed. Your Reflexologist may ask for a standard chair so they can sit at the foot of the massage couch.
Some therapists may apply the treatment with the client sitting in a chair, depending on the other treatments they may be offering that day, the environment, and their own personal working preferences.
Reflexology is a relaxing treatment ideally suited to a bedroom or another quiet part of the house.
